We have always loved ammunition that is loose-packed. Instead of tearing apart three boxes of ammunition for every two magazines we load, we would prefer to open a case of ammunition just once and be done with opening things for the day. This is why we have a special fondness for this case of Federal 5.56×45 ammo!
This ammunition wasn’t really loaded by Federal. Because the Lake City Army Ammunition plant did, its Brass cases, Boxer primers, and propellant are all of the highest military standard. The casings of these rounds are tarnished in true military-grade form because LAACP doesn’t waste time polishing brass after it has been annealed to make it stronger. Over a billion rounds of ammunition are made by them annually, thus they would rather do that!
The M193 is the standard AR-15 cartridge, with a muzzle velocity of 3,240 fps, a 55 grain bullet, a full metal jacket, and a boat tail with high ballistic efficiency. For plinking and range practice, you’ll find this ammunition to be quite useful, but if you ever find yourself in an emergency that requires 1,000 rounds of ammunition, having this case of ammunition stashed away in your home will come in handy.
