20 Rounds of 168gr ELD Match 30-06 Ammo by Hornady For Sale
Each and every M1 Garand weapon that is still in use is a national treasure. Yours demands ammo that is made just for it. Although it should treat any 30-06 rifle famously, Hornady Vintage Match is loaded to mimic the original military specifications for the 30-06 cartridge used in the M1 Garand.
The bullet in this cartridge, however, is considerably more technologically advanced than the ammunition the Greatest Generation used in WWII. It is Hornady’s 168 grain ELD Match, which, after leaving a 24″ barrel, scores an astounding 0.523 G1 ballistic coefficient. The Heat Shield polymer tip, which is resistant to aerodynamic heating and cannot bend, the very concentric AMP jacket, the elegant secant ogive shape and boat tail, and the rigorously standardized weight and overall dimensions are what enable the ELD Match to do this. Back in the day, our snipers may have fantasized of such projectiles.
The ELD Match is not recommended for hunting because it does not provide terminal expansion like its brother, the ELD-X. It is only a sharpshooter’s bullet. For you to attain Joyce Hornady’s objective of “Ten rounds through one hole,” vintage match cartridges contain match grade components and have undergone comprehensive inspection.
