The open tip match projectile, a favorite of competitive shooters, is used in this cartridge. The OTM’s copper jacket has virtually no runoff or concentricity faults, and its profile is designed to create the least amount of drag possible. Because the lead core of the OTM exactly matches the internal geometry of its jacket, it may rotate steadily while in flight.

The OTM cannot expand as it presses its point into soft tissue, making it ineffective as a hunting bullet. Although the terminal ballistics of this round’s wind-resistant 175 grain bullet are not ideal for taking animals larger than varmints, it does give the accuracy and energy you need to ruin any rodent’s day.
