Looking for AR-15 range ammunition made in the United States? By the box, you’ve just discovered it!
The Winchester USA 5.56×45 round was created to precisely the same specifications as the M193 used by the U.S. military. As a result, it is loaded with a typical 55 grain bullet that has a muzzle velocity of 3,180 fps. It will maintain a very flat trajectory and just need to ascend a few inches to hit a target 200 yards away.
In terms of semi-auto ammunition, this round is capped by a full metal jacket bullet, which is the standard bullet. The jacket has a sharp tip for improved accuracy and a cannelure to prevent the bullet from moving in its case. Lead is used to make the core of the FMJ. There isn’t any steel in there to cause a magnet to work!
Winchester uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and clean-burning propellant to ensure a constant point of aim and recoil. They use reloadable, brand-new brass casings. Because of their discolored necks, some people are wary of military-grade cases, but they shouldn’t be! Winchester neglected to polish these cases after they were annealed for increased strength, which is why they appear that way.
