With a 20″ barrel, this round’s non-corrosive Boxer primer and clean-burning powder combine to produce a muzzle velocity of 3,060 fps.
The bullets in this ammunition are Barnes’ proprietary Match Burner bullets. The uniformly distributed lead core and fiercely concentric jacket of the open tip match offer rotational stability, and the boat tail significantly reduces drag. This is what a flat trajectory requires.
The OTM BT’s nose cavity cannot unleash terminal expansion, hence this is not hunting ammunition. Each long-range target load has an accurately matched primer and propellant charge, as well as a reloadable match brass case. Utah is loaded!
